Part 1 Part 2
According to Maiuri, this was an imposing hall with two columns on the front.
The flooring was of black tesserae and marble; at present only traces remain of the sparkling wall decorations in IV Style, and of the marble zoccolo. Almost in the centre, the hall is divided into two parts by slender columns and pillars. The entrance opening on the southern part leads to the gallery placed upon the wide Palaestra; along the gallery opens vaulted rooms elegantly decorated and others rustic.

Looking east towards two columns at entrance to the upper terrace of the Palestra, through a large rectangular hallway.
According to Parslow, Karl Weber identified this structure as another “temple”, comparing it to the earlier “Temple of the Mater Deum or Vespasian”. (see Ins. Or. II.4).
“This second structure which is now recognised as the northern vestibule of the Palaestra first appeared in a report of September 22, 1759.”
